Eat to Run: Fueling your body with healthy foodEat to Run...Run to Eat There are so many reasons I love working with RunWashington Magazine. Every shoot presents new challenges that I dont always face in my other sessions. It keeps me on my toes and helps me keep my ideas fresh! RunWashington's March/April 2014 article, Eat to Run...Run to Eat (pg 47) is all about fueling your body versus indulging. Regardless of which side you're on, eating and running are always connected. Local runner Randy Smith averages about 70 miles per week in order to eat the yummy sweets he craves. As he baked these brownies, he described some of the other mouth-watering desserts he loves to eat after a long run. Although I didnt get to try the brownies (they were devoured by everyone at the shoot while I was photographing Randy), but I was told they were incredible.
Run to Eat: Running to eat anything you wantEat to Run...Run to Eat On the other side, Danielle Cloutier-Simmons drinks a smoothie when returning from a long run. She told me that the pineapple has something in it that is supposed to help with muscle soreness. I have yet to try this, but I'd say it's worth a shot! The rest of the ingredients are supposed to replenish some of the nutrients your body loses during a run. I'm not a nutritionist, but I'll say that the smoothie was darn good!
