Paresh contacted us just two weeks before the wedding day, and by some twist of fate, we were available!

We have had a VERY busy wedding season with few days "off", so it was surprising that one of the only weekends we had available was the weekend of Sarah + Paresh's wedding! We set up a call with Paresh as soon as he reached out and immediately knew that the stars had aligned perfectly! 

Of our many years living and photographing in and around DC, we had never photographed a wedding at the DC War Memorial, but we have always wanted to. It's just so beautiful, quiet, and romantic!

It’s one of the few places in the city where you can be in the shade while still being outside, so you don’t have to worry about a rain plan, you know the lighting will be perfectly even, and of course (the best part): it has that classic “DC” feeling without as much foot traffic as some of the other monuments.

The wedding was so intimate and personal to Sarah and Paresh. The guests consisted solely of the couple's immediate families. Sarah’s family being from the DC area, and Paresh’s family traveling from Wisconsin. The officiant took the time to really get to know Sarah and Paresh so the ceremony was extremely personal and sweet - incorporating both Indian and Christian elements, including their cat Sydney, and things that only someone close to these two would know. We couldn't help but feel like we were part of the family!

Paresh's mother created all of the florals - which were absolutely stunning!

When we were taking portraits of the newlyweds, everyone was waving at them and congratulating them like they were celebrities - it was so adorable!

They invited us to stay for a picnic after the ceremony, which we were more than happy to do! It truly was like we were part of the family! <3
