Nicole and Alex's Maternity Photo Shoot

Nicole and Alex are as sweet as pie.  I've been lucky to see this family evolve from the beginning.  I remember when Nicole started dating Alex.  I knew they would get married as soon as I saw them together.  

I was, however, surprisingly surprised when Nicole told me she was pregnant - as in, I really should not have been.  Nicole actually had to stop hanging out with me because I kept pointing out "clues" that she was pregnant - and not just any clues -- I was noticing things that the average person might not, like her hair was growing faster, her nails were thicker, and a few other things.  She finally broke down and told me after another two weeks.  Since then, we have joked that I am like a truffle pig for pregnancy.  Haha!  It's an odd skill, but I'll take it!

Anyway, they are getting ready to welcome their first baby girl - who they have lovingly nicknames "Jelly Bean" - into the world in the next few weeks.  The nickname is fitting for so many reasons, but I especially enjoy it for a few reasons:

1. Jelly Bean is a totally adorable nickname for the shape of the baby

2. There are so many variations of the nickname -- my personal favorite is JB

3. Nicole and Alex both have a major sweet tooth (you can see some of Nicole's dessert recipes here) -- and we are ALL sweet on the upcoming arrival of Jelly!
