These Adorable Bow Ties will make you JUST SMILE!
Meet JSB Bow Ties!
For those of you who don't know the gentlemen behind Just Smile Photo Booth...well, first, you're missing out! And, second, these creative entrepreneurs, who founded a photo booth company together a few years back. These brilliant gentlemen weren't just satisfied with starting ONE business wasn't enough for these guys; they needed to start a SECOND business as soon as possible! Sound familiar? :D
Some of you may know that they have been Participating Vendors for District Bliss' Vendor Socials - as Just Smile Photo Booth. We love their booths, backdrops, props, and super fun personalities; it's always a pleasure to work with Shaun and Darryl. They truly do bring the party - and now the STYLE!
When Shaun and Darryl reached out to us about this new business venture, we were excited to see how it would come together. They hit the ground SPRINTING because before we knew it, they were ready for us to start capturing their super cute bow ties. Thankfully, a few of our friends and Facebook friends were willing to lend us their babies, dogs, and men so we could photograph the bow ties being worn! We owe a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported this endeavor - we couldn't have done this shoot without you!
Bow ties leave a lasting impression and this is something the owners of Just Smile Bow Ties (JSB Ties) Shaun Simmonds and Darryl Sheppard, experienced while managing their photo booth company – Just Smile Photo Booth.
Meet Mattingly. She is beautiful and came all the way to Georgetown from Silver Spring (which is pretty much like driving in from Ohio) to sport a few bow ties and flowers. Plus, she's amazing! :)
Often referred to as “the guys with the bow ties,” their lively personalities, contagious smiles, and stylish bow ties became identifiers for Shaun and Darryl after working with photo booth customers for various events across the city. Recognizing this as good branding and an idea that reflects their own styles, the duo created and launched JSB Ties, a Washington, D.C. based bow tie boutique.
These gentlemen (because, let's be honest, no matter how young they are, they just look like gentlemen!) are just the sweetest! Their mom holds a special place in both of our hearts. It had been years since we'd seen her and almost burst into tears when we saw this beautiful family walking toward us. So much love to these little men!

Handcrafted by a local artist, our bow ties were created to give people (and pets) a sophisticated accessory that compliments an everyday look. Our bow ties create a sharp fashionable memory that begins with a conversation and ends with a smile.
And, then there's Humphrey! H is puppy of Caroline Dutton Events, an incredible talented and giving wedding/event planner in DC. Humphrey is also pretty much the tiniest little guy ever! When Caroline told us that he was four pounds, we didn't REALLY realize how tiny he is. Keep scrolling to compare his size with some of the children in this photo shoot. Then, figure he's much smaller than he looks on camera - because that's actually true! :)
Tie it once, unhook to remove it, then never have to worry about tying it again!
Do these guys look familiar? Well, they should - they belong to Sarah Campbell, the creative mind behind Pollyanna Events and Sara's District Bliss partner! London and Brady are crazy little guys. We LOVE them!
This little poofball should look familiar, too! Sophi (lovingly called many things, including Soph Soph) is the little Pomeranian owned by Life's Tidbits. Recently, she made a bit of a move - across the world, to be exact - so, we were happy to photograph her before their departure!
Meet Dakota! He is the sweet pea who lives with one of our amazing couples. We totally lucked in to meeting this couple when their wedding photographer had an emergency. We pretty much keep lucking out over and over with them - from their incredible wedding to becoming friends. We feel so lucky!
Even the paparazzi showed up to grab some photos of these celebs! ;)
Don't miss the party!
The Official Launch Party will be at The Park on 14th this Friday, August 28th, at 5pm! Is there a better way to celebrate National Bow Tie Day?! We think not! We hope to see you there! Get your FREE TICKET here!

Photos from the Harty, a team of lifestyle, wedding, and event photographers, was founded by Sara (Hartenstine) Alepin in 2005 after she graduated with a BA in Art Studio & Education and began working on her MFA in Photography & Digital Imaging. After years of working together, Katie Lingan officially joined the team as lead photographer in 2013.
Over the years, we've learned a lot from capturing - and being a part of - all types of special moments, especially weddings. One thing that has really stuck with us: it's not only important that you love our images - you must also love your photographer. You will spend more time with us on your wedding day than anyone else. So, it's important that you enjoy being around us on your big day!
So, keep reading to get to know us better. If you like what you read and like what you see, please reach out to us. We look forward to meeting you!
